"CONTEXT"

The novel, Lord Of the Flies ~ William Golding has a variety of different themes and influences mention and present in it. Such as its wartime context. It is mentioned at multiple instances that a so called “atomic war” is taking place.

Didn’t you hear what the Pilot said? About the Atom Bomb? They’re all dead” - Piggy, (pg.20)

In fact, this “atomic war”, is actually World War II. The boys referenced in the novel were evacuating from London, in the fear that it would be indiscriminately bombed.
